The Greatest Head Coaches for the New Jersey Nets

1980 Usa Hockey Jersey, The Nets were founded in 1967 and the franchise won two ABA Championships before being one of four ABA teams to join the NBA in 1976. Since then, the franchise has become synonymous with losing, even considering it made it to back-to-back NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003. The team has achieved four divisional titles, two conference championships and 16 seasons of playoff basketball so far in the NBA. Twenty coaches have led the New Jersey Nets and the top three head coaches of all time are Lawrence Frank, Byron Scott and Kevin Loughery.

No. 3: Lawrence Frank (2004 - 2009)

Lawrence Frank was the 17th head coach in Nets history. He ranks second among all Nets coaches in regular-season games coached, with 466 at a winning percentage of (.483). The coach ranks second in playoff games coached for the Nets, with 38 games. His playoff winning percentage stands at (.474), having won 18 playoff games. Frank got his start as a head coach with the Nets, and set the record for most consecutive wins by a head coach to start his career.

No. 2: Byron Scott (2000 - 2004)

Byron Scott leads the Nets franchise in playoff 1980 Usa Hockey Jersey games coached and playoff wins, with 40 and 25, respectively. Scott\'s playoff winning percentage stands at an incredible (.625). He coached the team in 288 regular-season games at a winning percentage of (.517), winning 149 of them. He initially struggled when he took over as Head Coach, but with the arrival of 1980 Usa Hockey Jersey Jason Kidd the team quickly saw success and made it to two NBA Finals. However, it lost in both of them, to the Lakers and Spurs, respectively.

No.1: Kevin Loughery (1973 - 1980)

Kevin Loughery led the Nets to not only one Championship, but two Championship titles: the ABA Championships in 1974 and 1976. He leads the franchise in regular-season games coached and wins, with 615 and 297, respectively. His regular-season winning percentage stands at (.483). The fourth Nets coach in history won 1980 Usa Hockey Jersey 21 playoff games of a possible 34, for a winning percentage of (.618). After the Nets joined the NBA, Loughery coached the team for five more seasons, but the team struggled to make any notable impact. Loughery\'s true success was two titles in three seasons when the team was in the ABA and Loughery, along with star player Julius Erving, brought the only titles ever known to the Nets franchise.

The Nets may be seen by other teams today as an easy team to beat but certainly when Kevin Loughery was head coach the Net was a force to reckon with. Kevin Loughery is the greatest head coach for the New Jersey Nets.
